Creator. Founder.
Entertainment mogul.
April Floyd has built a career around one powerful belief: original stories should be created with purpose, protected with intention and developed to reach audiences across more than one medium. As co-founder of FEG — Floyd Entertainment Group with Eddie Floyd Jr., she is shaping a connected entertainment ecosystem rooted in St. Louis and designed for lasting ownership, cultural impact and growth.
Her creative foundation began with the written word. Floyd is the author of four published novels and the creator of the Unique trilogy, a story universe that has expanded beyond books into live performance and screen development. Through Floyd Books Publishing, she develops original intellectual property with the potential to travel into film, television, music, stage productions, fashion and merchandise.
Her work in film reflects the same commitment to opportunity. Floyd produced the I Am Unique proof-of-concept trailer and short, engaging more than 200 local participants and awarding 80 film-program certificates. Her credits and creative work also connect to The Perfect Mate, Blue Lightning—co-written with Aaron Williams—Deadly Visitor, Wishbone Christmas and A Slammin’ Jammin’ Christmas. These projects unite family storytelling, music, humor, faith, community and ambitious independent production.
An award-winning journalist, Floyd has also written and produced commercial and media work while using interviews, public speaking and live appearances to strengthen the reach of her companies and creative properties. Media Made Magazine recognized her as a “Triple Threat in the Industry,” but her body of work reaches well beyond three lanes: she writes, produces, performs, publishes, builds brands and creates platforms for others.
Floyd is also the creator and messenger behind I Am Mother, a growing intellectual-property universe spanning books, original music, prayer, stage, speaking, fashion, community and a future digital experience. At the heart of that work is Mother Sophia—the message and spiritual presence—while April Floyd serves as the messenger bringing its call to awakening, remembrance and balance into the world.
Her commitment to St. Louis is visible through Legends in Film, the festival she co-founded to honor entertainment pioneers, preserve legacy and connect generations of artists and audiences. In 2024, that mission received civic recognition through the City of St. Louis proclamation of Legends in Film Day.
Today, Floyd leads a portfolio that includes Floyd Books Publishing, EDAP Digital Productions, Floyd Dreams Agency, Floyd Music House, Floyd’s Unique Boutique, I Am Mother Global and Legends in Film, with FloydTV envisioned as a future home for original programming and audience connection. Her goal is not simply to complete projects. It is to build a durable creative company where stories become assets, creators gain opportunity and St. Louis talent can reach the world.
